| The spectacular Cordillera Blanca is an area of jewelled lakes and snowy mountain peaks attracting mountaineers and hikers in their thousands. Apart from the range of Andes running along the Chile-Argentina border, the highest mountains in South America lie along the Cordillera Blanca and are perfectly visible from many spots. Although the snowline is receding, this area still contains the largest concentration of glaciers found in the worlds tropical zone and the turquoise-coloured lakes, which form in the terminal moraines, are the jewels of the Andes. Breathtaking mountain views and the unique Andean flora and fauna make this trip an unforgettable experience. |
