2 days / 1 nights -- from US$ 0.-- / EUR 0.-- In this program we combine the Ballestas Islands, where the meeting of the warm El Niño ocean current with the cold Humboldt current has created the world’s most fertile seas – rich in marine fauna, with the Nasca Lines, mammoth geometric and zoomorphic designs etched onto the desert floor by pre-Inca cultures.

ITINERARY DAY 1: LIMA - PISCO (Ballestas Islands) - NAZCA We start early by bus towards the city of Pisco (appr. 3 hours). From the seaport we continue our trip by boat, passing by the famous “Candelabro” on our way to the islands, where we will have ample time to observe the fascinating marine fauna of the area. After lunch at one of the beach restaurants we continue by bus on a scenic road towards the city of Ica – Peruvian capital of Pisco and Wine – where we visit one of the many wine yards and can learn more about the traditional Wine and Pisco production. Later we stop at the Huacachina Oasis where you can sandboard or simply relax at the lagoon. Late afternoon we continue by bus to Nazca where we stay overnight at a nice hotel. DAY 2: NAZCA (Nazca Lines) - LIMA The morning is dedicated to the exploration of the mysterious Nasca Lines (discovered by Maria Reiche). We appreciate this marvel from a bird’s perspective in a spectacular flight by small aircraft (appr. 30 minutes flight). After this adventure we visit the Chauchilla cemetery (Nazca culture), the traditional pottery factories (using ancient techniques) and learn more about the artisanal way of extracting gold. Afternoon bus ride over the panamerican highway back to Lima (appr. 6 hrs).
