At 5.30 am you will be driven from your hotel to the station at Poroy, for the beautiful three and a half hour train ride through typical Andean scenery. Your journey will take you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and into the cloud forest ecosystem of the Urubamba Gorge to Aguas Calientes, following the course of the Urubamba River.
At around 11.00 am the train will arrive at Aguas Calientes, where your guide will meet you and escort you to the bus station. The drive to Machu Picchu takes around 30 minutes. At the most famous site in South America, you will be escorted by your expert guide, who will explain the significance of this unique legacy of the great empire of the Incas. After the guided tour, you will have ample time for individual exploration of the ruins.
In the afternoon you will return to Cusco by train, and upon arrival in the city you will be escorted to your hotel.
